Goals and Objectives

SECOR’s goals are to focus on education, prevention, treatment, recovery services, harm prevention and criminal justice related to the Opioid Epidemic the first two years of funding. The region is mostly rural so access to services and resources for those affected by opioid addiction and abuse is the ultimate goal and objective. A priority for SECOR is providing services in as many counties within Region 19 as possible.

Opioid Settlement Funds

The Opioid Settlement Funds Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) provides the framework for dividing and sharing settlement proceeds among the state and local governments in Colorado. Under the MOU, 10% of settlement proceeds will be distributed to the State, and 10% will be allocated to statewide infrastructure projects.

Past Awards

The Colorado Attorney General’s Office was part of a national lawsuit suing pharmaceutical companies over the opioid epidemic and each state was awarded Opioid Settlement Funds to deal with the opioid epidemic. Contracts for distributed funds are linked below.
